Here’s how acupuncture helps with sleep, stress, hormones, inflammation, and more.
When I first opened my practice in Appleton, people had a lot of questions.
What exactly is acupuncture? What does it do? What can it help with?
Most of the time, people thought of back pain or maybe anxiety.
Which, yes, acupuncture helps with those. And I do see those things a lot.
But it does so much more than most people realize.
Now that I’m here in Land O’ Lakes, I want to reintroduce myself and explain what I actually do. If you’ve been curious but not quite sure if acupuncture is for you, it is.
No really. It’s for everybody.
But seriously most people could benefit from acupuncture. It’s not just for when you’re in crisis.
Holistic care is preventive. The goal is to keep things moving before they break down. Whether you’re dealing with stress, sinus issues, sleep problems, hormone shifts, or pain, acupuncture can help your body stay balanced and resilient.
Some people talk about Qi, meridians, yin and yang, and energy flow and if that speaks to you, awesome. I respect the wisdom behind those traditions. But here’s the simple version, acupuncture helps regulate your nervous system, improves blood flow, calms inflammation, supports hormone balance, and helps your body shift out of stress mode so it can actually start healing. Whether you think of it as moving energy or improving circulation, the goal is the same and that is to get things functioning the way they’re supposed to.
And honestly, it’s not always about treating just one thing.
If someone comes in with pain, but they’re not sleeping, we need to address both. The body heals at rest. That means we have to calm the nervous system, promote deeper sleep, and reduce pain all at once. It’s not about chasing symptoms it’s about creating the conditions for your body to finally repair itself.
Sometimes that means I’m treating someone’s knee, hormones, digestion, and sinuses in the same week. Why? Because everything is connected. Always has been.
There’s a deeper intelligence running through the body and acupuncture works with it, not against it.
It doesn’t override your system or shove things into balance. It gently supports your body’s natural ability to realign itself.
As above, so below. As within, so without.
Most of the time, I use a combination of traditional acupuncture and electro-acupuncture. Electro adds a gentle current that enhances results, especially with pain, inflammation, and nerve-related symptoms. But at the core, it’s still about helping your body heal in the way it was designed to.
So what can acupuncture help with? Well pain..of course. Which also means Bulging discs, sciatica, joint problems, stenosis, nerve pain, headaches, migraines…But also:
-
- Chronic sinus issues, congestion, allergies, and immune burnout
- Lingering colds and flus that just won’t go away including that virus that was around a few years ago
-
- Stress, anxiety, burnout, and trouble sleeping
-
- Hormonal imbalances, perimenopause, and fertility support
- Chronic inflammation, autoimmune symptoms, and mystery conditions nobody’s figured out
-
- And it’s widely used for cancer treatment support
And while you’re lying on the table? You’re doing absolutely nothing. Or zenning out. Or scrolling your phone pretending you’re not. I’m cool with all of it. You’re horizontal, your body is healing, and I’m doing the work.
Not a bad deal, right?
Here’s what I want you to know:
You don’t have to be in crisis to deserve support.
You don’t have to wait until you’re falling apart.
You’re allowed to feel good, like actually good, not just “getting by.”
So if something’s felt off, whether it’s your body, energy, cycles, sleep, pain, or just your general vibe…this might be the reset you didn’t know you needed.
I’m seeing patients in Land O’ Lakes on Fridays for the month of August and adding more days in September.
If you’re ready to start feeling better, I’d love to work with you.
Call, or book online to get started.
